200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program Overview: What You’ll Learn

200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training at

Yogiville, Tiruvannāmalai

Nestled at the foot of the sacred Arunachala mountain, Yogiville invites you to embark on a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training that blends traditional wisdom with thoughtful modern practice.

In this month-long immersion you will:

  • Live and learn in a vibrant ashram setting – sunrise meditation, vegetarian meals, kirtan, and satsang create a rhythm that lets yoga seep into daily life.

  • Root into classic teachings – study Patanjali’s Yoga Sūtras, Haṭha Yoga Pradīpikā, and the living devotional culture of South India.

  • Ground your method in mastery of the body – detailed asana labs, functional anatomy, safe alignment, and intelligent sequencing build confidence for every level of student.

  • Explore holistic health – introductory Ayurveda, pranayama, mantra, and yoga nidra round out a training that honors mind, breath, and body as a single continuum.

  • Practice teaching every day – you’ll guide peers in small groups and full classes, receiving encouraging, actionable feedback from our lead faculty.

  • Graduate with lifelong community – Yogiville’s global alumni network and ongoing mentorship mean your support system extends well beyond the final closing circle.

Whether you aim to step into the role of teacher or simply deepen your personal practice, our nurturing environment and experienced facilitators will meet you where you are and help you grow from there.

  • Community & Connection – AC Rooms, karma-yoga service, locally grown organic food and kirtan nights forge lifelong bonds with like-minded seekers—perfect for students seeking their first taste of ashram living before deciding on advanced study.

  • Holistic Lifestyle Skills – Introductory Ayurveda, mantra, and yogic diet sessions help you weave wellness principles into daily life, laying a versatile groundwork that future 500-hour graduates can later build upon.

  • Yoga Alliance–Compliant Certificate – Fulfil all YA standards for 200-hour registration, opening the door to studio teaching, retreat assisting, or simply deepening your personal journey.

Carley De Goede

I found a Yoga practice during a time in my life where I felt lost. Yoga helped guide me back to myself. My yoga mat was my safe space to feel into my body and emotions in a way I couldn’t anywhere else. My practice profoundly shifted my perception of my physical body and helped guide me to my first stages of Eating Disorder recovery. This shift of perception expanded beyond the peace I made with my physical body, and into how I can now approach myself without expectation or judgement. I learned how to let myself just be. Just being, however you are, is enough.

I gained so much healing from the teachers I practiced with and doing my Teacher Training peeled back many new layers of self-acceptance, bravery and confidence that I didn’t know were there. I found my voice. Upon completion of my first YTT I knew I wanted to give back and offer the healing I had received through yoga. I consider myself a lifelong student of yoga and will forever be looking to deepen my knowledge of this beautiful tradition.

I am passionate about both Indian and Chinese philosophy and mythology/metaphysics.

My teaching takes inspiration from all the teachers I have learned from and the lineages I have been lucky enough to study which include Ashtanga, Iyengar, Traditional Hatha, Trauma Informed, Jivamukti, Yin and Restorative yoga.

Off the mat I am a Certified Master Chinese Medicine Face Reader, and Facial Reflexologist. I have studied the Lymphatic System and how to build Immunity through touch and movement, these things often flow into my yoga teaching.

I am currently studying to become a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) in the Advanced Yoga Therapy Program at the Breathing Deeply Yoga School in New York.
